OWNING YOUR OWN BIZ? WHY?

2010 is just around the corner. What’s 2009 for you? What will 2010 be like? Where do you see yourself in the next year? Happier? Healthier? Wealthier? err..Heavier?…ooops! For those who have the word FREEDOM as part of your new year resolution, let me share an idea with you. To me, freedom means doing whatever I want to do, going wherever I want to go, having whatever I want to have. But most importantly, it is about BEING whoever I need to be, DOING whatever I need to do, so that I can HAVE those things that I want to have. MyMagneticMenu is just a stepping stone for us, God Willing, 2010 will be a year for us to soar like an eagle. A mentor once shared with me this simple quote that I have placed in my heart since I started my own Home-Biz, 10 years ago.

“I Am Willing To Do TODAY, What Others Dare Not. So That I Can HAVE Tomorrow, What Others Can Not!”

It is NEVER too late to start what you REALLY want to do. Regardless, how long or short your list is, the most important thing is, WHY you want to have it. I would like to share this beautiful article titled Your Reasons Why by Rose Gallo-Rojas; she is an entrepreneur who enjoys connecting with people and helping them get the most out of life and work. She is the mother of two teenage daughters and has been happily married for over 20 years.

If you are a true entrepreneur, it is in your blood. It both drives you and nourishes you. There is no other form of employment that is as rewarding or as frustrating as owning your own business. It gives us a sense of accomplishment one day and can drain us the next.

When you are going through a difficult time in your business (and we all have them) remember the reasons that brought you to the decision to own your own business in the first place. You will most likely have articulated those reasons in your business plan or in that first notebook you bought when you began to craft your idea or goal. Make sure your statement is strong enough and clear enough, that it gives you an emotional reaction every time you read it.

Whatever those reasons were for you, they are what fueled your decision to own your own business and they are powerful! Reviewing your “reasons why” during times of doubt can refocus your efforts and keep you motivated. Print your statement and have it handy so that you can access it and read it when you need to.

We all have moments in life that are challenging, even difficult, but always remember that these moments are temporary and reviewing the reasons why you started on this path in the first place, can give you the determination and fortitude that it takes to get you over the hurdle. It has given me the strength of purpose and the nudge I needed, when I was listening to that little foe called doubt.
